Often in life, the things we build fall apart. Even big and glorious things -- like the ancient temple in Jerusalem. This can be heartbreaking and cause us to give up.
Jesus lets his disciples know that all humans, including his disciples, will experience the heartaches of life and this world. We will witness things falling apart.
