FORWARD IN FAITH was the name of the capital campaign for this sanctuary that you are worshipping in today. Its groundbreaking was begun at the Sunday service on April 15, 1968. Take a moment to enjoy the photos of this special day in the narthex showcase display, arranged by the Archives Committee. You'll even see the shovel that was used by young and old alike 44 years ago. And be sure to also note the pictures of the finished sanctuary with its conversation pit below the original pulpit which looks much different today.
THE LOWER SUSQUEHANNA SYNODICAL WOMEN will be holding their retreat on Nov. 2, 3, and 4th at Camp Hebron. The theme this year is “The Celtic Way of Prayer and Praise” let by Rev. Beth Folkemer of Witness at Christ Evan. Luth. Church in Gettysburg. She is actively involved in the traditional music of Ireland, Scotland and the Celtic nations, performing in Celtic band, Cormorant’s Fancy. The ancient Celtic Christian communities affirmed the nearness of the Holy Trinity and company of heaven in all of life. Attendees can attend all weekend or daytime sessions or Saturday session only. Reservations must be sent by Sept. 15th. We hope to have several women attend. Registration forms are on the WELCA kiosk. Contact person is Phyllis Frankhouser, 626-4200.
