A MESSAGE FROM STEVE SHAUB: As some of you may know, Lynn Bitzer had battled Multiple Myeloma (blood cancer) for several years. Back in May of 2011, I raised money, in honor of Lynn, for The Leukemia Lymphoma Society while training for a marathon. Back in the spring of this year, I had discussed raising funds again with Lynn, knowing that he had relapsed. Little did I know then, that I’d be raising funds and running my next marathon in memory of Lynn. Lynn lost his fight on June 22nd. So, in memory of Lynn and his hard-fought battle with Leukemia, I am training for and participating in the Chicago Marathon, a 26.2 mile run, on October 13th. So while I train and bang out the miles, I’m hopeful that you, Lynn’s St. Paul family, will donate in memory of Lynn! Can you provide some financial support in Lynn’s memory to help find a cure for this dreaded disease that strikes about 20,000 people per year? Please make your checks payable to “The Leukemia Lymphoma Society” and look for me in the Narthex after church. Jenny and I thank you for your generous contribution!
THE LADIES LUNCH BUNCH will gather on October 16th at 11:30 at Fiorentino’s at the airport in Lititz. All ladies are welcome to join us. Their Italian food is so delightful! Please sign up in the book located at the kiosk in the Narthex. Any questions can be directed to Nancy Miller at 405-0000.
FRIENDS IN TANZANIA - This is the title of John & Linda Bell's talk about their trip to Tanzania this summer. Not only did they make friends at Kanga, our companion congregation, they also made friends at the Konde Diocese as well as with a lioness at Ruaha National Park. Join them to hear more about their adventures and, most importantly, about our companions in Kanga. They will be showing pictures and serving coffee and pastry in the Social Hall during the Sunday school hour on Sunday, October 27. There will be a special program for the Sunday school children on the following Sunday, November 3.
THANK YOU to Ann Ahlers and Wendy Kellogg for their wonderful assistance with the choir and music these past weeks.
SPGGG: For all of the St. Paul Garden Group (SPGG) members, you have done a wonderful job of making the church grounds look colorful and inviting. Thank you for your efforts for which SPGGG could stand for St. Paul Great Garden Group!

I WOULD LIKE TO THANK YOU for all the concerns and prayers for my recent fall. I was in pain for many weeks. I went through many tests and was told I had a Compression Fracture. I had a procedure Tuesday called a Kyphoplasty and now I am pretty much pain free. Again many thanks for your prayers. Eileen Martin
