PROVIDING MEALS: As the organizer of meals for families in need (ie: birth, illness, accident, etc.), I am initiating the use of an internet site called mealtrain.com. It allows volunteers to sign up for meals as their schedule permits and helps to ensure the family’s needs, as well. The list I inherited when I took over this task is old and outdated. I am trying to reach more people who are willing to participate in this outreach ministry. If you did not receive an email from me and would like to volunteer, please send your email address to firstname.lastname@example.org. If you do not have a computer, please call me at 625-0344, and I will get you in the schedule at your convenience. The program is very easy to use and very informative for both the volunteers and receivers. Your prompt attention would be much appreciated. Tami Weiler Ruckel
WOMEN OF THE ELCA begins their year with the annual Fall Guild Meeting on Saturday, Sept. 12th from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. in the social hall. All women of the church are invited. The morning will begin with speaker Tricia Nabors, director of “New Beginnings”, a program offshoot of the New Choices Career Development housed at the YWCA, which takes the program into the Lancaster Co. prison. The program benefits women at the prison who need a better road map upon their release. With offenses ranging from drug & alcohol problems to parole violations, the women must be accepted into the program and desire to turn their lives around. The first graduating class was in November 2014. Following the program the annual Service of Remembrance will be held honoring the women of St. Paul who entered the Church Triumphant this past year. A potluck lunch will cap off the morning. Please bring a favorite luncheon dish to share. Beverages and place settings will be provided. Food donations for the Warwick Community Chest will be collected.
TECH HELP NEEDED - Do you have a knack for electronics? We are looking for someone who would be willing to create the electronic announcements each week that are displayed in the narthex. If you are interested, please see Barb Paynter.
POWER PACKS - St. Paul will be distributing Power Packs at both Bonfield & John Beck Elementary Schools in the Warwick School District for the 2015/16 school year. We have a truly dedicated group of volunteers who help with this project on Thursday afternoons. If interested in joining this group as a driver (1:00-2:00pm) or packer/distributor (2:00-3:00pm), please see Barb Paynter by September 1.
ST. PAUL'S SENIORS GROUP - is looking for a new facilitator. They meet the 2nd Wednesday of each month for a social activity. Responsibilities would be to plan/organize monthly activities with the help of the group members. If interested, please see Barb Paynter.
ST. PAUL CRAFT SHOW applications are available on the kiosk. The dates for the show are Friday and Saturday, November 13 & 14. If you participated last year and want to again this year, please get your application filled out and turned in to the church office with payment by September 15th to assure your reservation. We have a couple of available spaces, but they may go fast!
THE LADIES LUNCH BUNCH will gather on September 16, at 11:30 at Javáteas located at 1 Dutchland Avenue, Ephrata. From Salads, Sandwiches and Italian ice, along with specialty coffees and teas, there is definitely something you will just love!
