The Pipe Organ at Saint Paul  Casavant Freres, Opus 777
Dedicated on September 21, 1969 the organ was built by the firm of Casavant Freres Limitee, Opus 777, and was designed so that it would be visibly prominent in the Nave. As you look at the organ, its three main divisions are readily apparent. The Great organ, the backbone of the instrument, occupies the center space and its pipes are arranged in two cascades, opposing each other. The Swell organ, to the right of the Great division, is enclosed in a wooden chamber and speaks through louvres at the front. The Swell division contains voices such as the Salizional and Vox coelestis, and interestingly color stops, such as the Sesquialtera, and the  Krummhorn, a type of reed. The large pipes of the Pedal division, located at the left, were placed so that they can stand to their full height of 16 feet. The smaller pipes of the Pedal division are mounted on the pedastal between these large pipes and the Great division. The Pedal division is not merely comprised of very deep sounds but is a complete division in itself and adds a great deal of body to the sound of the instrument. The organ is of traditional design and voiced throughout on two inches of wind pressure.
