TO CELEBRATE ST. PAUL Christian Child Care Center’s 26th birthday, St. Paul CCCC will be collecting presents for Caitlin’s Smiles. Caitlin’s Smiles is an organization that creates “Bags of Smiles” for children who are in the hospital. These bags are filled with items (listed below) that a child can do on their tray while in their hospital bed. The organization was founded by Cheryl Hornung who lost her daughter in 2000 to a malignant brain tumor. Her daughter loved arts and crafts and Cheryl had already purchased birthday and Christmas presents for her before she passed. She took those presents and donated them to Penn State Children’s Hospital. Cheryl saw how happy it made the children to receive these little gifts. That was what encouraged her to start Caitlin’s Smiles. St. Paul CCCC will be collecting items through the month of March. There will be a collection birthday bag in the narthex. Items we are looking to collect are: Books, Crayons, Journals, Sticker books, Coloring books, Play dough, and any other items that a child can do in his/her hospital bed. Thank you! What a difference a smile makes…….☺
