HELPING FLOOD VICTIMS. There are many people in need during this time of storm recovery. Many have not only lost everyday possessions, but have also been displaced. Kim Swinko, our financial assistant, has been displaced and is living in Lancaster until she can move back home in Ephrata. Kim’s entire basement was flooded and 6 inches of her living floor. Kim was hesitant to express any need, but when gift cards for groceries, meals, and gas was suggested, she gave a big sigh and said yes, she could really use those things. She is fortunate enough to have flood insurance, but of course the need for some things can’t wait. We are collecting donations in the church office of gift cards to grocery stores and gas stations, for example Giant, Weis, Sheetz and Turkey Hill. She lost everything in her refrigerator and freezer. She has no where to put any tangible items at this time, so gift cards are the greatest help right now.
ARE YOU IN NEED? If there are any other members of our congregation that are in need due to the recent weather, please notify the church office. Maybe you need help emptying a basement of items that need discarded, or a meal during this time. Please contact us with your needs and we will try to match you with help. If you are able to HELP, please contact the church office and we will assemble a list of helpers.
LOVE FROM LANCASTER COUNTY is a group (see them on Facebook) who is set up at the Manheim Farm Show Complex to take donations of items you might have that need a new home. They may also be in need of cleaning supplies, formula, diapers as well as furniture. From what I understand, those in need are also able to get groceries. Please check them out!
HONORING THOSE WHO SERVE THE LITITZ COMMUNITY. Recently the Lititz area was inundated with weather related and natural disturbances-an earthquake, a hurricane, and torrential rain and flooding. Who do we call when disaster hits? One of the first organizations we think of is our local fire company. They not only respond to fires, but other disasters as well. They are a vital part of the Lititz community who depends on volunteers and donations to provide the service we al take for granted. Last year, the St. Paul Endowment Fund gifted the Lititz Fire company $500. This donation from our congregation was made possible by the gifts given to the Endowment Fund by the disciples of St. Paul. Thank you for making this donation possible. Thank you to those who volunteer to serve.
GIFTS FOR MINISTRY! Did you know that the St. Paul Endowment Fund distributed $20,070 last year? This year we want to double that distribution, but we need your help. Please contact a member of the Mission Endowment Fund Committee about you can best contribute.
