The more items we have for the silent auction, the more money will be made to benefit our church.

A NEW VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY has become available. The Worship Life Team is looking for a volunteer to coordinate other volunteers to serve in processionals on Festival Sundays(on Reformation and Easter Sundays). This volunteer arranges for five people to “bear” the cross, 2 torches, the Bible and a banner for the 8:00 and 10:45 services (a total of 10 participants). Although this service is usually performed by youth (it is a requirement for confirmation), it is not restricted to them. A list of confirmands will be made available. Tami McCarthy will be available to ensure a smooth transition, and will furnish prepared written instructions to make communication and rehearsal for the participants and coordinator easy and clear.
GROW AS STEWARDS THROUGH FAITH, LOVE AND HOPE! Today, the second Sunday in our three-week sermon and Bible study stewardship education program discussing the virtue of faith, love, and hope, we are focusing on love. Because God has first loved us, we can share his love with others. Jesus said, “…love your neighbor as yourself” (Matthew 19:19), and, “if we love one another, God loves in us and his love is made complete in us” (1 John 4:12). Love seeks the best for others. God’s love in us will compel us to love him and others.
LCO SINGLES will meet in the social hall on Friday, Oct. 28th, at 6 p.m. for pizza, fun and planning. We hope to do a dinner in November and a service project in December. Come share in the fellowship and bring ideas for future endeavors. All single adults over 25 who want to share in fellowship are welcome. Contact Kathy Ross with questions at 468-7582.

SMALL GROUPS: If you are interested in starting a small group, if you have a particular gift or interest that you would like to share and enjoy with others, contact the office and we’ll help you get organized, prepare a sign-up sheet, pick a date and get started! Small groups are a great way to get to know each other better and meet new people with similar interests. Also, if you have a small group that you would like to showcase in an upcoming newsletter, please write something up and submit it to the church office. Let’s start with our small groups to make a large impact on others and the community!
CRAFT SATURDAY: Craft Night for the month of November has been moved to Saturday, November 5th for candy making. We have reserved the kitchen and social hall from 9am – 4pm to make sure we have enough time to get everything made. We’ll be making candy and candy boxes for our 2011 Church Bazaar. We will also be packaging the candy being made. We’ll be sharing a light lunch where we can discuss our progress and just maybe do a taste test. The sign up sheet is in the booklet at the appropriate kiosk in the narthex. Please consider signing up to help. I am confident it will be a very fun time and the more people we have there the sooner we can pack up and head home. Even if you can only help for part of the time allotted, that would also be appreciated. You can put the estimated time you will be available beside your name. Any questions contact Joyce Groff at 669-7988. I am not a candy expert so any experienced candy makers would be welcomed with open arms.
CHICKEN BBQ TICKETS will be on sale in the narthex for the next two Sundays. Pick up is from 10 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 22 at Stauffer’s of Kissel Hill. This will benefit the youth of Lititz and Manheim who are attending the ELCA Gathering in New Orleans.
