PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE READ THIS! The new worship assistant lists for Communion Assistants and Assisting Ministers are in the book in the narthex. Hazel has stepped down as the volunteer coordinator, so it would be tremendously helpful if we could have names filled in these slots each week without having to call and ask for volunteers. Thank you in advance for your willingness to serve.

2011HOLIDAY BAZAAR, MEMBERS OF ST. PAUL: Registration forms are now available for the 2nd Annual St. Paul Holiday Bazaar. They can be picked up at the church office, or call Joe Doster at 560-3739. The cost is $25 per table.
HOLIDAY BAZAAR 2011: Anyone wanting to donate an item or service for the silent auction should contact Linda Calhoun at 627-6161. That item can be anything from a chocolate cake to a painting, a hand-crafted item or a service, such as a homemade dinner or an hour of babysitting. The more items we have for the silent auction, the more money will be made to benefit our church.
IT’S STILL NOT TOO LATE FOR HAMBURGERS…I love hamburgers! How about you? There is nothing better than a big juicy burger with all the fixins…maybe even cheese. And the bun...it’s got to be fresh, not to big and not to thick. Grilled to medium rare is just about right for me. Anybody know what place makes the best hamburgers in Lancaster County? Well here is your chance to join me this fall when the “ST. PAUL BURGER BUNCH” goes looking for the best hamburgers in Lancaster County. The sign up sheet is in the book in the narthex. There are only a few slots left. We will be picking a date in October to begin our search. Start thinking now about what places you have found that makes the best hamburgers. Wayne Gongaware
DON’T LEAVE YOUR estate plans for the government to decide! If you don’t have a will, the state will determine guardianship for your children and where your assets will be distributed. The state will not consider leaving a gift for ministry. Your gift to your loved ones is to decide now what you want to happen upon your death. The state will if you don’t and the state won’t include a bequest for your church or favorite Lutheran ministry. Wills are for the rich and poor and everyone in between. Remember the ministries of your church through the St. Paul Endowment fund. Contact Pastor Gable or an Endowment Committee member for more information.
A NEW VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY has become available. The Worship Life Team is looking for a volunteer to coordinate other volunteers to serve in processionals on Festival Sundays(on Reformation and Easter Sundays). This volunteer arranges for five people to “bear” the cross, 2 torches, the Bible and a banner for the 8:00 and 10:45 services (a total of 10 participants). Although this service is usually performed by youth (it is a requirement for confirmation), it is not restricted to them. A list of confirmands will be made available. Tami McCarthy will be available to ensure a smooth transition, and will furnish prepared written instructions to make communication and rehearsal for the participants and coordinator easy and clear.
CMI PRODUCTIONS have a fantastic fall line-up of concerts! Artists include Steven Curtis Chapman, Jars of Clay, Third Day and more. More artists and information now posted outside the choir room.

FAITH, LOVE AND HOPE! Today is the first Sunday of our three-week sermon and Bible study stewardship education program focusing on the virtues of faith, love and hope. Today our focus is on faith, which God graciously gives to us. Through faith, we acknowledge God as our Creator and Redeemer, and we are made right with him. In our sermon message and in our Bible study for this day, we will see that our stewardship is the evidence of faith. Faith leads us to action. Our faith empowers us to be God-pleasing stewards.
