JOY TO THE WORLD! Seniors of St. Paul. The annual Senior Christmas Dinner will be held on Saturday, December 5 at 12 noon in the Social Hall. A delicious dinner will be served with all of the trimmings. Light entertainment will be held following the dinner. REMINDER: The Building Improvement Fund and the Capital Campaign are two separate funds. The Building improvement Fund is for ongoing maintenance of our building, and the Capital Campaign is our three-year commitment for future (Social Hall, Phase 1) renovations.
CALLING ALL BAKERS: The youth group will be providing food for the craft fair on November 13th & 14th. Would like to donate baked goods for the food stand? We would love to have them. If so, please bring them to the church during the day on Thursday, November 12th or Friday Nov. 13th. If you could package them the way you would want them sold, that would be great. We will price everything here. Thanks to everyone in advance! The money raised at the craft fair concessions will benefit our youth group program.
CRAFT GROUP: thanks to everyone who came to our picture frame and pinecone basket making evenings and to all who contributed items for the cause. Wow…we had so many supplies and we accomplished much more than I had anticipated due to all the helping hands along with Sandy Bingaman and Debbie Herr’s ideas and instructions. We are now gearing up for the actual craft fair which is what we were creating the frames and baskets for. We will be getting together on November 7th from 9:00am until about 2:00pm. in the social hall to put the finishing touches on our picture frames and baskets. That will replace our 2nd Tuesday Craft Night in November. We will also be working on signage and our list of volunteers to man the stand at the craft fair. We will be sharing a light lunch so please consider joining us. Nov. 19th and Grace Lutheran on Wed., Dec. 30th for: Set Up (1 person) 3:00-5:00pm AND Serving/Clean-up (5 people) 5:15-7:00pm If you are interested in volunteering, please sign up on the kiosk.
THANKOFERING SUNDAY will be held November 15th at both services. The speaker is Upper Susquehanna Women of the ELCA President, Stephanie Lewis. As a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Shamokin Dam she helped revitalize the church’s Women of the ELCA unit and currently serves as unit President.
In 2012 she joined the Women of the ELCA’s 25th Anniversary Tour of Liberia. In 2014 she served as a delegate to the W/ELCA’s 9th Triennial Convention and Gathering. This past June she represented the churchwide organization at the Sojourner’s Summit: world Change Through Faith and Justice in Washington, D.C. A special offering for churchwide Women of the ELCA will be taken during the services.
BREW CREW will be going to the Black Forest Brewery in Ephrata, PA on Monday Nov 16th. They are opening just for our group so this will be a private gathering. We are also trying something different with the food. The owner will be making soups, salad and sandwiches and the price will be $15 per person with a cash bar. Our reservation is for 6:30 so those wishing to car pool, meet at the church to leave by 6:10. Please sign up in the book if you are able to come.
WOULD-BE HANDBELL RINGERS! Have you ever wondered what it's like to play handbells? Would you like to try it? Would you also like a free dinner from Dickey's Barbecue Pit?
