THE CHRISTIAN SERVICE BOX for November is to support Habitat for Humanity.
THE WORSHIP FLOWERS are presented by Eileen Martin to the glory of God and in loving memory of her husband, Don Martin. FYI: Each week when the bulletin is printed, we post all of the announcements on the website under the Member Info Tab. The worship assistants are also listed with the announcements. Please sign up on the kiosk or see Barb Paynter or Wayne Gongaware. Volunteers must be age 16 or older. We will email you the registration materials to fill out and bring with you. BRIDGE OF HOPE of Lancaster and Chester Counties is accepting workable used cars for women in their mentoring program. In order to reach self-sustainability the participants need a car to reach their job or education site. These cars will not be used for long trips, but should be reliable as the women cannot invest in costly repairs. Contact Phyllis Frankhouser, 626-4200, for more info. TAI CHI CLASSES: Kathy Ross will be leading on Wednesday mornings at 8:30 a.m. in the narthex. Tai Chi is a martial art yet it is also similar to Qigong that allows healing in the body at minimum body awareness and tools for better balance, movement in all limbs creating better living for those with arthritis. For more information email Kathy at ksross@ptd.net FAMILY ADVENT FESTIVAL HELP NEEDED: We are looking for help in planning and running our Family Advent Festival. The families who attended our festival last year LOVED that many of our Seniors took the time to plan and run this for their children! They have expressed a hope that you will do this again! If you would like to help, but were unable to attend the meeting, please contact Barb Paynter at 626-4709. Any help is greatly appreciated! CALLING ALL BAKERS: Cakes and Cookies and Pies, Oh My! Anyone interested in donating baked goods for the food concession at the craft show? We would love to have them. If so, please bring them to the church during the day on Thursday, Nov. 13 or Friday, Nov. 14. If you could package them the way you would want them sold, that would great. We will price everything here. Thanks to everyone in advance. The money made at the craft fair concessions will benefit the youth going to the ELCA Youth Gathering in Detroit next summer. ST. PAUL WOMEN OF THE ELCA will be holding the annual Thankoffering Service next Sunday, at both services. The guest speaker is Charlene Walker-Horton, past member of the church-wide Board of Women of the ELCA. The theme of the service is "Of Many Generations". A special offering will be taken for Women of the ELCA. To date, Women of the ELCA has delivered more than $3.1 million in grants to domestic and international organizations, and more than $630,000 in scholarships to Lutheran women. LUTHER ACRES RAFFLE TICKETS will be sold between services on Sunday, November 9th. There are 4 prizes that have been donated, 2 of which were made by St. Paul members. Photos of the prizes will be here that day. The tickets are $1 apiece, or 6 for $5. ST. PAUL CHRISTMAS DINNER: Are you or your spouse 65+ years of age? If you are, you are invited to the St. Paul Christmas Dinner on Saturday, December 6 at Noon. Be prepared to enjoy a delicious home cooked dinner and some light entertainment all prepared by members of St. Paul and sponsored by St. Paul WELCA. Come join us to celebrate the coming of Christ at this long standing Christmas tradition. Look for the sign-up sheet in the Small Groups book in the narthex, or call Mary Ann Seitz at 626 9368. Hope to see you there!! THE LITITZ WARWICK COMMUNITY CHEST (food bank), is currently seeking volunteers to make food deliveries. This position involves assembling the food delivery from the pantry and local grocery stores and delivering the food to the requesting family's home. A time commitment of 6 hours a month should be expected as typically 2 to 3 deliveries are made per month with each delivery taking approximately 2 hours. There are physical demands required as the food must be carried up the steps which access the pantry. If you are interested in volunteering, call our hotline at 627-0770 and leave a message. We will return your call to explain in detail and answer any questions. REMINDER FOR BLANKET MAKERS: The Nov./Dec. session will be on Wednesday, December 3 from 9 a.m. to noon in the social hall. SENIOR SHEPHERDS will not be meeting the last Thursday in November since that is Thanksgiving. SUPPER CLUB SIGN UP FOR 2015: It is again time to sign up for Supper Club for next year. Supper Club is a group couples/singles who meet for dinners and socializing throughout the year. Groups of 4 couples/singles will be formed from those who sign up. Your group will then meet 4 times during the next year, once at each of the couples/singles home for dinner and socializing. Each group can decide how to organize the dinners for their group. In the past, some groups have done formal dinners, picnic type dinners, and one group this past year even did a cookout and watched a polo match. This is a GREAT way to socialize and get to know others here at St. Paul! Look for the signup sheet in the Sign-Up book in the narthex. Please sign up by Sunday December 14th. We really would like to get more younger couples involved in Supper Club. This is a great way to get a night out with adults. If you are a couple in need of babysitting, please indicate when you sign up. We can find some of the youth wanting to babysit to help you, so you can attend a supper club dinner. After December 14th, we will randomly select the groups, and inform each couple/single of your group so you can get started. Any questions, please contact, Deb or Al Rothermel (627-2107 or drothermel535@dejazzd.com) EXTRAORDINARY GIVE: is Lancaster County's Largest Day of Giving and will take place on Nov. 21. This 24 hour fundraiser benefits local organizations including Power Packs, St. Paul's CELC, and Bridge of Hope. In support of our partnership with Power Packs, St. Paul has been asked to prepare dinner for the volunteers. If you would like to contribute to this meal, please sign up on the kiosk in the Narthex or see Barb Paynter. Thank you.
