THE CHRISTIAN SERVICE BOX FOR November is The North Star Initiative – Building “The Harbor”. The Harbor exists to provide residential housing and a secure place for adult female survivors of domestic sex trafficking and sex exploitation. During their time in the Harbor program the women receive support in education, career building, social services, therapy, and access to legal and basic medical services. The program allows women to transition into independent life styles. It allows women to navigate towards a place of healing and wholeness.
SIMPLY GIVING is an easy and convenient way to make donations to St. Paul. It is an automatic checking account deduction plan that transfers your designated contribution directly to the church. You no longer have to complete an offering envelope; the church receives your offering every week; and saves the cost of purchasing envelopes. REMINDER: The Building Improvement Fund and the Capital Campaign are two separate funds. The Building improvement Fund is for ongoing maintenance of our building, and the Capital Campaign is our three-year commitment for future (Social Hall, Phase 1) renovations.

Volunteers (ages 15+) are needed to serve at Grace Lutheran on Wed., Dec. 30th for: Set Up (1 person) 3:00-5:00pm AND Serving/Clean-up (5 people) 5:15-7:00pm. JOY TO THE WORLD! Seniors of St. Paul. The annual Senior Christmas Dinner will be held on Saturday, December 5 at 12 noon in the Social Hall. A delicious dinner will be served with all of the trimmings. Light entertainment will be held following the dinner. All of those who are 65+ along with spouse or significant other are invited to attend. Look for the sign-up sheet in the narthex activity book. SUPPER CLUB SIGN UP FOR 2016: Supper Club is a group of couples/singles who meet for dinners and socializing throughout the year. Groups of 4 couples/singles will be formed. Your group will then meet 4 times during the next year, once at each of the couples/singles home for dinner and socializing. Look for the signup sheet in the Sign-Up book in the narthex. Please sign up by Sunday, Dec. 13th. This is a great way to get a night out with adults. If you are in need of babysitting, please indicate when you sign up. We may be able find some of the youth wanting to babysit to help you, so you can attend a supper club dinner. After Dec. 13th, we will randomly select the groups, and inform each couple/single of your group so you can get started. WELCA BOOK CLUB: 7:00 PM on Dec. 3 at the home of Marion Gotwalt at 415 Linden Street, Lititz. The selection is The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan. In 1949 four Chinese women, recent immigrants to San Francisco, begin meeting to eat dim sum, play mahjong, and talk. United in shared unspeakable loss and hope, they call themselves the Joy Luck Club. Rather than sink into tragedy, they choose to gather to raise their spirits and money. THE MISSION COMMITTEE will sponsor an ANGEL TREE this Christmas season. The recipients of your Christmas generosity will be the children, who with their mothers are participants in the Bridge of Hope Lancaster County program. Christmas can be a difficult time for the families as the homeless mothers work to find housing, transportation, employment and sometimes an education so that they can be a self-sustaining family unit. Often, Christmas gifts are a luxury which the mothers cannot afford during this transition period. The ANGEL TREE is in the narthex through December 6. Each “ANGEL” will indicate where to purchase the $25 gift card-Walmart, Kmart or Target. Please pick an angel and return with gift card in a Christmas card. Someone will be in the narthex after early service and before late service on Sundays through December 13 to collect your donation. The mothers will be given the gift card so that they can have the experience of purchasing and wrapping the gift for their child. Gift cards can also be dropped off at the church office or sent to Phyllis Frankhouser, 26 Longenecker Rd., Lititz, PA 17543.
ADVENT WREATH LIGHTING sign-up sheet is in the red, worship assistant book. Please sign up to do a reading, and take a copy of your reading with you. The reading will be printed in the bulletin, so don’t worry if you lose your paper, it’s just for your family to practice.
PREPARING FOR THE 2016 BUDGET: There will be a Town Hall meeting after each service on Dec. 6th to solicit input on the budget. Then on Dec. 13th there will be a congregational meeting after each service to approve the 2016 budget. If you haven’t returned a 2016 pledge card, we ask that you consider doing so by Nov. 30th to help us plan our 2016 budget.
SENIOR SHEPHERDS will have a Christmas luncheon on Monday, December 7th at 1 p.m. in the social hall.
FAMILY ADVENT FESTIVAL: Join us TODAY at 4:00pm in the Social Hall for an Advent story, crafts, and songs. Children…bring your parents, grandparents, and friends as we will prepare our hearts for the joyous Advent season. A soup and sandwich dinner will be served following the festival at 5:30pm. All are invited for the festival and dinner.
DECEMBER CIRCLE MEETINGS will meet as follows: St. Paul Circle at Luther Acres will meet in the chapel on December 2 at 12:45 p.m. The Ruth Circle will meet in a room across from the library on December 6 at 9:30 a.m. Hazel Nestleroth will present the topic "Tempo Giusto".
COFFEE, TEA OR CHOCOLATE? YES PLEASE!! Equal Exchange trades fairly and directly with 40 small-scale farmer co-operatives world-wide to bring us delicious coffee, tea, and chocolate. The farmers are located in underdeveloped countries throughout the world. Equal Exchange donates twenty cents to one dollar per product to Lutheran World Relief’s (LWR) Small Farmer Fund. These funds enable LWR to support human rights, capacity building, and environmental initiatives. For example in 2012, LWR supported the cooperatives in Kenya through planting new trees, improving processing equipment and storage facilities. WELCA is making the products available at cost in order to support small-scale farmers who are providing for their families, improving their communities, and caring for their land through fair trade. Coffee, tea, and chocolate will be available during select weeks in November and December.
GIFTS FOR OUR HOMEBOUND MEMBERS: There are cards and angels that need delivered to St Paul's shut-ins before Christmas. If anyone is able to do this valuable service to our members that are unable to make it to church, pick up the addressed card and an angel and deliver them to the address on the card. Cards and angels are in the narathex. This visit is always so much appreciated.
THANKOFFERING UPDATE: On Sunday November 15th a special collection was taken to benefit churchwide Women of the ELCA. A total of $1,939 was collected. Thank you to all!
