LITITZ PROJECT - It’s time to collectively serve our town again! St. Paul and other Lititz area churches will again be participating in the Lititz Project. We are looking for volunteers to help with yard work and minor home repairs. Last year we had three work teams - Please look for the sign-up sheets in the narthex and donate some time to help your neighbors.
A NEW BEGINNING has been offered to our congregation with the selection of the Reverend Robert Myallis as our new pastor. The Archives Committee reminds us of some of the many other "new beginnings" that St. Paul has had in the past with photos and articles of pastors called to serve St. Paul over the past half century. You are invited to relive those moments at the archives showcase in the narthex.
WELCA BOOK CLUB: will meet on April 7th in the lounge. The selection is Nadia Bolz-Weber’s Accidental Saints: Finding God in All the Wrong People. A New York Times Bestseller, Accidental Saints demonstrates what happens when ordinary people share bread and wine, struggle with scripture together, and tell each other the truth about their real lives. This unforgettable account of their faltering steps toward wholeness will ring true for believer and skeptic alike. The June 2nd selection is Graeme Simsion's The Rosie Project.
LCO BRUNCH FOR WOMEN will be held this year at Brickerville United Lutheran Church on Saturday, April 2 at 10am. A presentation by Ruthie Dunkle from Manheim, "If Life Gives You Lemons, Go Ahead and Squeeze!" will be followed by a light lunch. Ruthie is from Manheim where her husband is Pastor of the Lord at the Manheim Grace Brethren Church. She teaches Bible to middle school students at Manheim Christian Day School and is the parent of three grown children. She is also a gifted vocalist, conference speaker and ministers to other wives in the ministry. With a great sense of humor, we should have a very enjoyable morning. We invite all ladies of the church to join us at this brunch and feel free to bring along a friend. We will be collecting canned goods for the Warwick Community Chest as well as taking up an offering. Please sign up in the red book located on the kiosk in the narthex. Please register for this luncheon by March 24 either via e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or call Jackie Fetter (717 949-3467). Interested in car-pooling? Call Marsha Campbell 717 626-8078
MENTORING OPPORTUNITY: The Mission Committee is looking to form a mentoring team to support a woman in the Bridge of Hope program. We are looking for 5 or 6 caring individuals to provide emotional and social support for a woman as she works towards financial stability to maintain her housing. Time commitment includes getting together about once a month as a group and other times by calling, texting, or inviting her to do something with you. No financial support is required by mentors. Training is provided to the group of mentors with ongoing staff support. Contact Barb Paynter at 626-4709 or email@example.com for more information. If you can be a friend, YOU can be a mentor for a mother and her child.
LABELS FOR EDUCATION: Here are some updates on the Labels for Education® program at St. Paul’s CELC. First, thank you to all of you who have been taking the time to clip, save, and drop off labels in the narthex and the Christian Early Learning Center! So far, we have banked 2,500 points, and there are MANY more labels to count and send in! We are well on our way to reaching our goal of 5,000 points. On a more disappointing note, the Labels for Education® program will be coming to a close. Campbell has shared that due to declined interest in the program, it will be winding down at the conclusion of this school year. Schools have until the summer to turn in labels and earn points. SO, please continue to clip, save, and drop off labels! I will collect until the last day of preschool, May 20th. I will do a final submission of labels at the end of May, which is double points month! Please fill the box before May 20th. Thank you for your support! Jenn Maryniak
