Announcements for February 23

2/21/2014

READY TO help sew blanket tops again?  There is a plastic container in the narthex which has patches to sew blanket tops (directions are included). Completed tops can be returned to the church office or the plastic container.

A NEW ARCHIVES DISPLAY in the narthex showcase features early choirs here at St. Paul. The earliest photo is the Junior Choir from 1911 at the Spruce Street church and its hand-written attendance sheet. The most recent is a photo of all of the church choirs in 1938 at the Broad and Orange Street church. Accompanying each photo is a bulletin of one of their special musical offerings from Palm Sunday musicals, through Easter cantatas as well as special Christmas programs. Music continues to be an important part of worship here at St. Paul.

OUR NEW GROUP, SENIOR SHEPHERDS, has a display of the wooden toys that they are making for various groups who provide outreach to children.  These toys will be distributed to the children.  If you are interested in learning more, please see Joe Doster.

COME ONE, COME ALL to the World Day of Prayer service on March 7 @ 6:30 p.m. St. James Catholic Church, 505 Woodcrest Avenue, will host the service which is packed with various musical presentations. The offering will go to the Warwick Released Time program.

THE MEN’S BIBLE BREAKFAST will take place on Saturday March 1, at 7 a.m., here at St. Paul, Lititz.   We will meet in the social hall for fellowship, breakfast, and a stimulating Bible study led by Don Shaub.  If anyone would like to provide food please contact Jim Millhouse.  All men are invited to attend, so mark your calendars and plan to attend this event.

LIFE STORY WRITERS - Have you ever thought of putting your life down in writing for your children, grandchildren, or special family members?  St. Paul's newest small group: Life Story Writers will meet this Tuesday, Feb. 25th at 1:00pm in the lounge.  Bring your notebook, pencil, and the story of your "birth"day to share. Contact Barb Paynter bpaynter@stpaullititz.net if you are interested in learning more or would like to join.

LENTEN BIBLE STUDIES - This year we will have two Wednesday Lenten Bible Study Opportunities:

“Viewing Psalms Through a Lens” on Wednesday mornings at 11am in the Lounge led by Marsha Campbell.  This is a study of Psalms and participants should bring their Bibles and cameras or smartphones as we'll be taking photos of meaningful verses chosen from our studies around our church property.

...AND...

Loving God & Loving Others on Wednesday evenings at 6:30pm in the Nave led by Pr. Gable.  This will be a DVD series Bible study focusing on the Jesus Creed and what it means to love God and love others.

Please plan to join us for one or both of these Bible Study opportunities.
