THE CHRISTIAN SERVICE BOX for December is to support the Itete Hospital in Tanzania.
THE WORSHIP FLOWERS are presented by Reba Oberlin and family to the glory of God and in memory of Dick Oberlin. FYI: Each week when the bulletin is printed, we post all of the announcements on the website under the Member Info Tab. The worship assistants are also listed with the announcements. IF YOU ARE HAVING TROUBLE READING THE BULLETIN we can email you a copy each week for you to print in the size font that suits you, or you can view it on your tablet or electronic device. Just email Susan at sfaulkner@stpaullititz.net. THE ARCHIVES SHOWCASE THEME centers on Advent Worship. Look for an old set of stoles, worn by pastors during Advent, as well as bulletins representing each of the four Sundays of Advent. Featured are Advent devotionals — both those made by members and those given to members — and a familiar Advent hymn from the 1929 Children's Hymnal & Service book. SUPPER CLUB SIGN UP FOR 2015: Supper Club is a group couples/singles who meet for dinners and socializing throughout the year. Groups of 4 couples/singles will be formed from those who sign up. Your group will then meet 4 times during the year, once at each of the couples/singles home for dinner and socializing. Each group can decide how to organize the dinners for their group. This is a GREAT way to socialize and get to know others here at St. Paul! Look for the signup sheet in the Sign-Up book in the narthex. Please sign up by Sunday December 14th, and indicate if you need childcare. We can find some of the youth wanting to babysit to help you, so you can attend a supper club dinner. After December 14th, we will randomly select the groups, and inform each couple/single of your group so you can get started. Any questions, please contact, Deb or Al Rothermel (627-2107 or drothermel535@dejazzd.com) THE LADIES LUNCH BUNCH will gather on December 17th at 11:30 at Chives American Grill, 581-4350, Fieldcrest - Brethren Village, Lititz. All ladies are welcome to enjoy some great food and conversation! We hope to have you join us. Please sign up in the book located at the kiosk in the Narthex. Any questions can be directed to Nancy Miller at 405-0000. CHRISTMAS ANGEL TREE: We invite you to be an “angel” to show God’s love for a child in need. An Angel Tree has been placed in the narthex. The gifts that are purchased will be given to a child in need in Lititz through House of His Creation & Warwick School District. Please take an angel tag(s) by TODAY. The tag will list if your child is a boy or girl, his/her age, and a gift idea. Please purchase a gift for the child, wrap it, and tape the angel tag to the gift. (Some of the tags will ask you to write the gift that was purchased to help those that are distributing the toys.) Then place the gift with the tag attached under the tree by December 14. Thank you for being an “angel” and sharing God’s love with a child this Christmas! If you have any questions, please contact Barb Paynter. “CHRISTMAS CARD POST OFFICE”: This year, we have a new option for how to send your Christmas cards to family and friends at St. Paul – there is a Christmas mailbox in the narthex. Just place your cards in the alphabetized mail slots corresponding with the recipient’s last name. Short on time? Place your cards in the basket by the mailbox and let us place them in the slots for you. Then, don’t forget to stop by the mailbox to check your own slot to pick up your cards each Sunday in December. And the best part….postage is FREE! So, share some Christmas cheer and send your Christmas cards to friends and family. If you have any questions, see our very own St. Paul Postmasters, Emily & AJ Paynter. BRIDGE OF HOPE Lancaster and Chester Counties was blessed through wonderful support of the Extraordinary Give. There were 235 gifts totaling $59,718. This nearly doubled what the organization received through the 2013 day of giving! Thank you to all St. Paul disciples who gave to this mission. ADVENT WREATH LIGHTING PRAYERS are in the Red Worship Assistants Book. Please sign up for a reading and take a copy of your reading. There is 1 more slot to fill (8 a.m., Dec. 21) so PLEASE sign up to participate in the lighting of the Advent Wreath. CHURCH DECORATING: Join us to decorate the church for Christmas on Friday, December 12 at 5:30pm. We will have pizza for dinner at 5:30pm in the social hall. Then we will decorate the Nave & Narthex at 6:00pm. If you plan to attend, please sign up on the kiosk in the narthex so we know how many people will be joining us for dinner. WINE CLUB DATE CHANGE! Due to those wanting to help decorate the church on December 12th, the Wine Club at Joe and Sandy Doster’s house will be held on Saturday, December 13th a 7 p.m. SENIOR SHEPHERDS: Starting on Monday, December 22nd, we will be meeting from 1-3 p.m. (in the side room of the social hall) for work sessions every Monday. In January, we will resume our meetings on the 4th Thursday each month from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. SENIOR SHEPHERD LUNCHEON: All persons who have helped or are currently helping the Senior Shepherds are invited to a luncheon in the social hall at 1:00 p.m. on December 15th. COINS FOR CARING: The children collected Coins for Caring following the Children's Sermon last Sunday. Each Sunday through Advent, those children who have taken part in the Children’s Sermon will take cans around the sanctuary to collect loose change (or whatever monies are donated) to be distributed every week to a different charitable cause. The money collected the first week will be used to purchase devotionals and small gifts for the mothers from House of His Creation in Lititz. This is to be a tangible lesson to the children that they can make a difference in someone’s life even if it’s just a few coins that they have to offer. The next 3 weeks we will give to Warwick Religious Released Time, Kanga Lutheran in Tanzania, and the Warwick Community Chest.
