Announcements for August 7

8/5/2011

THE CHRISTIAN SERVICE BOX collection for August will be an outreach of the Women of the ELCA’s Building Blocks of Hope to benefit Mom’s House, Lancaster, which provides safe, secure, and totally free childcare to low-income single parents wishing to continue their education.  Mom’s House® offers single parents, facing an unplanned pregnancy, with a viable, practical alternative to the despair of abortion and the tragedy of welfare.  Mom's Houses® are God-centered, nonprofit, licensed childcare centers. Pre-school children receive quality care and early education. Their single parents are plugged into a network of supportive services that enable them to complete their education, find jobs and get off of welfare.

SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHERS are still needed for preschool and elementary grades.  Please contact Lori at lnikoloff@stpaullititz.org or call the church at 626-4709.

THANK YOU to everyone for the cards, calls, well-wishes and prayers during my hospital stay and recovery.  I’d also like to thank Pastor Jim for his uplifting visit.  Margaret Reich

SUPPER CLUB POOL PARTY:  On Sunday Aug. 28th at 3:00 - ?, Lori and Chris Nikoloff are hosting a pool party for all people who participated in supper club this past year, and all families who may be interested in joining the supper club group for next year.    Everyone should bring a hot or cold dish to share.  In case of rain, we will still meet for food and socializing in the social hall.  All families & children are invited!  Supper club is a group where groups of 4 couples/singles meet for dinner 4 times during the year for socializing and fun times together.  Each couple/single will host one dinner throughout the year.  It is really a great opportunity to meet new people and get to know your fellow members of St. Paul’s.  If you would like to find out more about supper club, join us for the pool party at the Nikoloff’s for lots of fun!  Any questions, contact Lori or Chris Nikoloff, or Al or Deb Rothermel.

NEEDED:  Flat sheets, fitted sheets and pieces of cotton material for blanket making. There is a plastic container in the narthex marked "Cotton material and/or sheets" for these donations. Thank you for your contributions.
