CALLING ALL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL KIDS and parents! Come learn what camp is like at Kirchenwald & Nawakwa and why you should attend camp this summer. Kids will have the opportunity make friends while living with campers from other congregations and learning that Jesus Chooses Us, the theme of our 2011 summer camp curriculum. Caring and well-trained counselors will ensure your child's camp experience is safe and enjoyable. Every child will have the opportunity to try out their Christian wings in preparation for their return to home, school and the congregation. All that, while swimming, playing games, doing crafts, nature study and all the things that go into a week of camp! The hardest part is choosing which camp and which program you would like to try. We hope the presentation TODAY will make your decision easier. We will meet in the social hall at 9:30 and start the program with fun-filled camp songs. Come join the fun!
AS SOME OF YOU MAY KNOW, Lynn Bitzer has been battling Multiple Myeloma (blood cancer). A little while ago I contacted Lynn about raising money for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) on his behalf. His first response was “Can I donate?” Of course Lynn wants to donate. He and his family have been fighting his battle for the past 16 months. So, in honor of Lynn and his ongoing battle with leukemia, I am training for and participating in the Dick’s Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon, a 26.2 mile run, on May 15, 2011. I have teamed up with Thrivent Financial to raise money for LLS. For every $3 we raise, Thrivent adds $1. How about you? Can you provide some financial support on Lynn’s behalf to help find a cure for this dreaded disease that strikes about 20,000 people per year? Please make your checks payable to “Thrivent Financial for Lutherans” and include “Steve Shaub/LLS” on the memo line. Just drop your check in the offering plate and together we’ll find a cure for blood cancers!!
