SHARING THE MAGIC OF CHRISTMAS FOR CHILDREN

We have three opportunities for giving…..

We have an Angel Tree through LutherCare.  You may choose an angel that provides information for gifts for a child in need.  You are given their age, sex, some sizes and items they might enjoy, which gives you choices.  You are not required to purchase all items suggested. When you take an angel, put your name and phone number on the list next to that child’s number.  When you have the items ready, please wrap them and place them all in a bag with the child’s angel tag attached.  Bring the bag into the narthex and place around the Angel Tree.  We will see that they are delivered for the children to receive right before Christmas.  Please return your wrapped and bagged gifts with angel tag attached by Sunday, December 4th.

We will also be supporting Bridge of Hope’s mothers and children.   We will have a separate basket of flowers, and you may pick a flower (as a reminder) to provide a $5 gift item for a child to give his/her mother for Christmas.  This is a wonderful way to help a young child in need to experience the joy of giving. Please return your UNWRAPPED $5 gift item to the narthex and place in the bin labeled “BRIDGE OF HOPE” by December 4th.  We will provide wrapping paper and tags for the children to help wrap the gifts for their mothers.  We will also provide them with tags to label the gifts in their own handwriting.

There is also a Toys for Tots bin in the narthex to place your new, unused toys to be distributed by the Marines.

FREE BABYSITTING IN DECEMBER: Linden Hall's National Honor Society will be providing free babysitting for any family in the community on Saturday December 3rd and December 10th from 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm.  This is an opportunity for parents to do some Christmas shopping or run errands while their children, ages 4 to 11, are watched by responsible adults and Linden Hall students in a safe, fun environment.  There will activities, games, arts and crafts, and movies in the Anne Brosman Sweigart Gymnasium on the Linden Hall campus (200 E. Main St., Lititz, PA).This service is absolutely free! Reservations are requested, but not required.  To make a reservation or if you have any questions, please call Sara Fenske, the advisor to Linden Hall's chapter of National Honor Society at (717) 626-8512.  Please spread the word about this community service project and bring your kids!

We are returning to New Orleans again in 2012 due to the on-going help needed in that area.  We have a total of 54 youth and adult chaperones attending with us this time from 4 different churches.  St. Paul still has the largest number of the 54 people.  As you can see, we really need your support to make it all happen.  Thank you for your continued generosity and prayers.
