MEN’S BIBLE STUDY & breakfast will be here at St. Paul starting at 7 a.m. on Sat., Oct. 4th. Please contact Jim Millhouse if you can help by providing food and/or setting up on that morning. Also we need someone to prepare and lead the lesson for that morning. Afterward, we will be preparing lunches to feed the volunteers working on the Habitat Fairview house project. NEW MEMBERS CLASS: A class for prospective members/disciples will meet on Saturday, October 18th at 8:30 a.m. If you are interested in becoming part of St. Paul and its ministry check your schedules and please contact Pastor Gable or the church office to reserve your slot(s).
TODAY Lutheran World Relief envelopes will be collected after each or they can be put in the offering or returned to the church office. Checks should be made payable to St. Paul W/ELCA. St. Paul W/ELCA extends a sincere THANK YOU for your contribution. The cost to send one quilt is $2.25 and the cost to send one kit is $2.65.
PERSONAL CARE KITS will be collected during September. On October 5th these kits will be blessed, then packed and sent to Lutheran World Relief. A list of kit items is posted on the Women of the ELCA bulletin board in the narthex. Please take one, make a kit and then place it in the container marked "Personal Care Kits." Thank you for your generous help with this project.
WELCA BOOK CLUB October selection is Bill O'Reilly and Martin Dugard's Killing Jesus: A History. Join us in the Lounge at 7:00 PM on Thursday, October 2 for a lively conversation about the book.
QUILT AND KIT SHIPPING FUND: During September, we will be collecting funds for the Quilt & Kit Shipping Fund to help pay for shipping costs of quilts & kits to be distributed to people in need by Lutheran World Relief. Envelopes can be found in the narthex. Please make checks payable to St. Paul Women of the ELCA. Thank you for supporting this project.
FOOD DRIVE: St. Paul will be holding a food drive to benefit the Lititz Warwick Community Chest from Sept. 21–Oct. 5. The LWCC provides temporary assistance to neighbors in need who reside within the boundaries of the Warwick School District. Bags will be given out after both services today along with a list of needed items. These bags can be filled and returned to the narthex by Sunday, October 5 at noon. CHORAL CONCERT: The first event of this year's concert series is a performance by the Chester County Choral Society Chamber Ensemble on Sunday, October 5 at 4 p.m. This group of auditioned volunteer singers is dedicated to excellence in performing diverse choral music and is under the direction of Gary Garletts. Plan to be here!
THE BREW CREW Picnic/Oktoberfest will be held on October 9th at 6:30 p.m. We will be in the pavilion weather permitting. (social hall if weather is bad) We will be providing the main course and beverages and we ask each family to bring a side dish or dessert. Please mark your preference on the sign-up sheet. Keep an eye out for upcoming trips to Snitz Creek in Lebanon and Columbia Kettle Works. We are also planning a beer and cheese tasting for early in 2015.
RUTH CIRCLE will meet on Sunday, October 5th at 9:30 a.m. in the library. Gail Benner is the presenter of the topic “We Are Called” and the text is Isaiah 6:8. Luther Acres Circle will meet on Wednesday October 1st at 1:15 p.m. in the chapel at Luther Acres.
THE ENDOWMENT COMMITTEE will be accepting requests from the congregation, committee chairs and church council for funds from the annual distribution from the Endowment Fund. There is a form available on the church website, www.stpaullititz.net. It is under “member information-endowment”. Forms are also available at the church office.
