PLEASE, PLEASE READ THIS! The worship assistant lists for Communion Assistants and Assisting Ministers are in the book in the narthex. We do not have a volunteer coordinator, so it would be extremely helpful if we could have names filled in these slots each week without having to call and ask for volunteers. Thank you in advance for your willingness to serve.
SUPPER CLUB SIGN UP sheets are on the kiosk in the narthex. Sign up deadline is today. We will begin our supper club groups in January, 2012. Couples and singles are welcome. Give us a try! Good food & great relationships abound! Any questions, contact Deb Rothermel at 627-2107 or Lori Nikoloff at 626-1767.
THE STEWARDSHIP COMMITTEE is looking to expand its volunteer base to write thank you notes in response to our Commitment Campaign. Please sign up in the sign-up book in the narthex if you are willing to help and have not helped previously. Questions call Phyllis Frankhouser 626-4200.
HOLIDAY BAZAAR 2011: Anyone wanting to donate an item or service for the silent auction should contact Linda Calhoun at 627-6161. That item can be anything from a chocolate cake to a painting, a hand-crafted item or a service, such as a homemade dinner or an hour of babysitting. The more items we have for the silent auction, the more money will be made to benefit our church. If you are not involved in the craft show and want to donate an item for the silent auction, please drop off your item in the church office between Nov. 14th and Nov. 18th. Anyone who would like to help at the St. Paul table for the craft show, please contact Joyce Groff at 627-1901. It’s a lot of fun and you can do it for just an hour or as long as you would like!
A NEW VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY has become available. The Worship Life Team is looking for a volunteer to coordinate other volunteers to serve in processionals on Festival Sundays(on Reformation and Easter Sundays). This volunteer arranges for five people to “bear” the cross, 2 torches, the Bible and a banner for the 8:00 and 10:45 services (a total of 10 participants). Although this service is usually performed by youth (it is a requirement for confirmation), it is not restricted to them. A list of confirmands will be made available. Tami McCarthy will be available to ensure a smooth transition, and will furnish prepared written instructions to make communication and rehearsal for the participants and coordinator easy and clear.
PLEASE NOTE THAT WE NOW HAVE SIGN UP BOOKS--ONE FOR THE WORSHIP ASSISTANTS, FLOWERS AND BREAD, AND ONE FOR THE SMALL GROUPS, CLUBS, BIBLE STUDIES, ETC. ANYTIME YOU ARE DIRECTED TO SIGN UP FOR SOMETHING, ALL SIGN UP SHEETS WILL BE IN THE SAME LOCATION!
SMALL GROUPS: If you are interested in starting a small group, if you have a particular gift or interest that you would like to share and enjoy with others, contact the office and we’ll help you get organized, prepare a sign-up sheet, pick a date and get started! Small groups are a great way to get to know each other better and meet new people with similar interests. Also, if you have a small group that you would like to showcase in an upcoming newsletter, please write something up and submit it to the church office. Let’s start with our small groups to make a large impact on others and the community!
SANTA’S WORKSHOP AT THE BAZAAR! Bring your child to meet Santa on Saturday, November 19th at our Bazaar from 9-12 noon. Bring along a camera if you’d like to take a picture of your child with Santa. Your child is welcome to stay and enjoy our Santa’s Workshop where they will have the opportunity to make a craft, play games, listen to stories, and enjoy a snack while you visit our Craft Bazaar.
FALL IS THE SEASON to be thankful. St. Paul Women of the ELCA are planning their annual Thankoffering service for Sunday, November 13. Guest speaker for the day will be Ida Jeanne Smith, president of the Lower Susquehanna Women of the ELCA. Traditionally, a special ³basket² offering is taken that day and given to churchwide Women of the ELCA, benefiting women¹s programs and works. Consider your offering that day to be one of thankfulness for your many blessings.
CRAFT SATURDAY: Craft Night for the month of November has been moved to Saturday, November 5th for candy making. We have reserved the kitchen and social hall from 9am – 4pm to make sure we have enough time to get everything made. We’ll be making candy and candy boxes for our 2011 Church Bazaar. We will also be packaging the candy being made. We’ll be sharing a light lunch where we can discuss our progress and just maybe do a taste test. The sign up sheet is in the booklet at the appropriate kiosk in the narthex. Please consider signing up to help. I am confident it will be a very fun time and the more people we have there the sooner we can pack up and head home. Even if you can only help for part of the time allotted, that would also be appreciated. You can put the estimated time you will be available beside your name. Any questions contact Joyce Groff at 669-7988. I am not a candy expert so any experienced candy makers would be welcomed with open arms.

Call Mary Ann Seitz at 626-9368.

We are returning to New Orleans again in 2012 due to the on-going help needed in that area. We have a total of 54 youth and adult chaperones attending with us this time from 4 different churches. St. Paul still has the largest number of the 54 people. As you can see, we really need your support to make it all happen. Thank you for your continued generosity and prayers.
