In June 2014, a dozen or more Lititz Churches will embark on the Lititz Project, an endeavor that brings mission work to our community of Lititz. The Lititz Project is an outgrowth of the Ephrata Project, which began about 6 years ago as a partnership between Love INC (In the Name of Christ) and the Reformed Presbyterian Church of Ephrata.
The purpose of the Lititz Project is to complete home improvement projects within our own community for those who are unable to complete them for themselves and share God’s Love.
On Sunday, April 13, volunteers will distribute 5,000 door hangers to homes in Lititz and some areas of Rothsville. The door hangers will explain to homeowners that area churches are willing to send teams to complete free home improvements. Those who are in need of help with home projects should call Love INC at 735-7540 by April 25.
Love INC will coordinate the projects with the churches, and teams of church members will complete their assigned tasks from Monday, June 22 - Saturday, July 5. Home improvement projects will be divided into three levels and teams will be assigned in accordance with their level of expertise.
Jesus showed compassion to people and shared the hope of a relationship with Him. He connected with people where they were at emotionally and built relationships based on compassion. Jesus set an example for us as we look to meet people where they are at. These acts of compassion create unique and exciting opportunities for relationships to be built and the gospel be shared. Lititz Project gives its volunteers the opportunity to show compassion, build relationships, and take care of some practical needs of our neighbors.
Please complete the form below and place in the offering plate by April 6 if you are interested in helping. If you have any questions, please contact Barb Paynter firstname.lastname@example.org
