MEAL SERVING IN LANCASTER: Our congregation has partnered with Zion Leola to serve community dinners in Lancaster. Volunteers (ages 15+) are needed to serve at Grace Lutheran on Wednesday, July 29 for: Set Up (1 person) 3:00-5:00pm AND Serving/Clean up (5 people) 5:15-7:00pm. If interested, please sign up on the kiosk or see Joyce Groff or Barb Paynter.
SUMMER MUSIC: At each traditional service this summer, you are invited to be part of a pickup choir! At 9am in the choir room we will rehearse a simple 1- or 2-part anthem for that day's service. A signup sheet is in the narthex for musicians who would like to share their gifts in worship this summer. If you would like to play or a sing a solo or in a small group, choose a date and Valerie will be in touch!
DO YOU PLAY A WIND INSTRUMENT? For this year's worship service at Lititz Springs Park (August 16), we are forming a wind band to play the hymns from musicians from each of the churches. The more, the merrier! Be in touch with Valerie if you're interested. She will be digging out her saxophone (and possibly subjecting herself to public humiliation!); dust off your instrument and come out and play!
THE WOMEN OF THE ELCA is collecting items for the Gettysburg Seminary Food Bank. The following can be placed in the labeled container in the narthex. Cereal, canned vegetables, macaroni, granola bars, sugar, flour, peanut butter, spaghetti sauce, baking mixes. Also, soap, shampoo/conditioner, toothpaste. Paper products: plates, cups, napkins, paper towels, diapers (any size), feminine hygiene products. Gift cards: Giant, Weis, Walmart. Give cards to church office or Phyllis Frankhouser. DO NOT PLACE IN CONTAINER.
THE WELCA BOOK CLUB: Thursday, August 6 at 7:00 PM in the Lounge. The selection is God: Stories by C. Michael Curtis. Come and share your thoughts on your favorite story/stories from this collection.
THE ARCHIVES COMMITTEE'S showcase display features old church paraments and stoles used during the church calendar year. There are five main colors for paraments (the "banners" hanging from the altar and the pulpit) and stoles (worn by the clergy). The colors change as the seasons of the church year change, with some colors repeating during the church year. Take a look at this display and remember when...
DRIVERS NEEDED - We are in need of several volunteers who would be willing to drive some of our Luther Acres residents to & from church on Sunday mornings during the summer months. Volunteers would be asked to pick up residents at the Muhlenberg Building at 9:00am and then drop them off after the service at the same location. Drivers would be asked to use their personal car. (The LA bus is no longer insured to be used by our volunteers.) If you would be willing help, please see Barb Paynter.

LIBERIAN STUDENT TUITION SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM: Thank you to the many St. Paul members who have partnered with the charity, God's Precious Children, to sponsor a child's school tuition last year. Despite the tragic and devastating consequences of the Ebola virus outbreak that plagued Liberia, schools held classes from February through June. Many students were able to continue their education, and we even had one of our sponsored students graduate in 2015! School is expected to resume in September and student profiles are now available for the 2015-16 school year in the narthex. Because of the Ebola outbreak, volunteers from the program were unable to travel to Liberia to update registration information with a new photo or to collect letters to sponsors, so the student profiles being distributed will contain much of the same information as last year. For those who indicated an interest in continuing to sponsor the same student, profiles are in envelopes labeled with the sponsor's name. Several additional students are also available for sponsorships. Payments can be returned to the church until August 30th or mailed directly to God's Precious Children, as directed on the information included with the student profile. If you have any questions, please contact Cindy Wingenroth at 627-2111 or email@example.com. Thank you!
THANK YOU!! I would like to thank the members of my St. Paul family for the prayers, cards, telephone calls, and visitations during my recovery from heart surgery. A special thank you to Pastor Straw for his hospital and home visitations. A big thank you to Nancy for the physical, mental and spiritual strength to help me on my road to wellness. Yours in Christ, Warren Weiss.
