THE CHRISTIAN SERVICE BOX for February will be to support the Lutheran Refugee and Immigration Services. Their mission is to assist refugees with assistance including education, job placement, housing, and medical care. The Christian Service Box for December raised $100 to benefit the New Choices/New Beginnings. Thank you for your contributions and please continue to keep these missions in your prayers.

LENTEN BIBLE STUDY: Who in the Bible Are You? Wed, Feb 24 Mar. 2, 9, 16 at 1pm in the Lounge. Jesus taught most often in parables. Old Testament stories appeal to young and old alike. Both feature memorable and relatable characters. Explore favorite Bible stories in order to choose one character that invites you to better understand yourself, your relation to others and your relationship to God. Participants will study the Bible, but will also search music, artwork and commentaries to learn even more about their chosen characters. At the end of five sessions, selected Bible stories will be newly alive to each class member, since our Biblical counterparts will have spent meaningful time with all of us. This study will be led by Marsha Campbell, 626-8078 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Please bring a Bible, paper and pen.

MENTORING OPPORTUNITY: Bridge of Hope is looking for a church in Lititz to form a mentoring group to reach out in Christian friendship to a single mother and son who live in Lititz. The Mission Committee would like to support this need by forming a mentor group. We are looking for 5 or 6 caring individuals to provide emotional and social support as she works towards financial stability to maintain her housing. Time commitment includes getting together about once a month as a group and other times by calling, texting, or inviting her to do something with you. No financial support is required by mentors. Training is provided to the group of mentors with ongoing staff support. Contact Barb Paynter at 626-4709 or email@example.com for more information about an information session. If you can be a friend, YOU can be a mentor for a mother and her child.
