MISSION TRIP TO ASSIST HURRICANE SANDY VICTIMS April 19 – 25. This trip is being coordinated by a group of church members and friends in the Northern Lancaster Conference led by Pastor Glenn Beard. Our group has done over 11 mission trips, the four most recent (two per year) have been in the Monmouth and Ocean Counties of NJ, which is the location for the April trip. Our LCO congregations (Brickerville, Lititz, Manheim, Penryn, Salem Kissel Hill, and Rothsville) are encouraging members to consider volunteering. While much of the work is construction related, no experience or specific skills are required. Many participants are 55+ so no, you are not too old! If you can’t do a full week, you are welcome to do only part of the week. We have 3 members from our LCO congregations who have volunteered with this group for many years; Don Shaub and Tom Wingenroth of St. Paul’s Lititz, and Wayne Olsen of Manheim.
The cost will be $8,000 to $10,000 dollars. ($220 per person.) This includes $120 per person for the weeks lodging, $100 per person towards material cost donations, plus food and gas, however fund-raisers will help defray some of the costs. Participants must sign-up by March 1. If you have interest, please see Don Shaub. There will be approximately 35 to 45 people traveling to North Jersey. Anyone interested in helping to finance our trip or participating in our trip, please see Don Shaub after the service in the narthex. Make Checks payable to: North Lancaster Conference Deans Fund. Note on your check For: Jersey Disaster, Mail to: Pastor Glenn Beard, 103 Buchanan Drive, Ephrata, PA 17522
